Aeronautics Commission schedules special teleconference meeting

Closure scheduled for westbound I-80 Aug. 28

The westbound lanes of I-80 will be closed briefly Wednesday east of the Cheyenne Port of Entry beginning at 8 p.m. The closure to allow crews to hang a new electronic message sign over the highway is expected to last between 30 minutes and an hour. There will be no detour during the closure.

WYDOT Authorized Travel program open for applications

The Wyoming Department of Transportation is accepting applications for the 2013-2014 WYDOT Authorized Travel program. The program gives approved drivers permission, when conditions allow, to drive on portions of otherwise closed highways. Beartooth Highway section reopened

The Beartooth Highway (US 212) section between Long Lake in Wyoming and Red Lodge, Mont., that had been closed Aug. 21 due to a wildfire was reopened at 2 p.m. Aug. 22. You can find fire and closure updates at the Beartooth Highway website.

Transportation commission awards $2 million slide stabilization contract

A $2 million contract for stabilization of the Upper Marten Slide on WYO 24 about eight miles west of Aladdin was awarded by the Wyoming Transportation Commission during its August meeting in Cheyenne.
