The Engineering and Planning Division is comprised of nine specialized programs; Bridge, Contracts and Estimates, Geology, Highway Development, Project Delivery, Right of Way, Planning, Materials, and Highway Safety. These teams are responsible for expertly preparing all roadway and structural design plans for construction bids. These collaborative teams work to strengthen and enhance Wyoming's transportation system, ensuring WYDOT's readiness for emergencies and the continued safety and effectiveness of our roadways for the traveling public.

Operating primarily behind the scenes, they skillfully manage the wide-ranging activities required to develop a project from initial concept to construction readiness. This role is vital to our mission, providing essential support for those in the spotlight and highlighting the Division's commitment to the inspiring value of selfless service. The successful integration of diverse programs, consultants, and technical design elements necessitates a passionate, supportive team that collaborates confidently and harmoniously. To enhance recognition and strengthen relationships both within the agency and with external partners, Engineering and Planning has developed a strategic plan aimed at achieving these objectives.

"Commitment to the inspiring value of selfless service."
