Automated Driving System Vehicle Testing

The Wyoming Department of Transportation and Wyoming Highway Patrol have established a voluntary reporting system for manufacturers conducting automated driving system (ADS) vehicle testing within the state. 

Please inform the Highway Patrol at (307) 777-4321 at least one week prior to the expected entry date. In addition, WYDOT asks that manufacturers call the same number or stop at the Port of Entry when entering and departing the state. WYDOT will use this information to notify appropriate agencies during testing. 

As members of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's AV Test notification program, WYDOT will make the appropriate entries into the system if the manufacturers have not already done so. 

As a reminder, all ADS vehicle testing must comply with appropriate state vehicle and safety driver regulations including drivers holding an appropriate license for the vehicle class they are operating.
