Transportation Commission awards $35 million in highway contracts

Contracts totaling $35.7 million for eight highway projects around the state were awarded by the Wyoming Transportation Commission during its May meeting in Cheyenne. Oftedal Construction of Casper submitted the low bid of $12.3 million for reconstruction of 3.5 miles of US 14A on the eastern edge of Cody. The highway will be widened to five lanes to include a continuous turn lane and 8-foot shoulders....

Cost of plowing Yellowstone's south entrance below estimate

The cost for WYDOT to plow 16 miles of the road from Flagg Ranch through Yellowstone National Park's south entrance was $57,200, $13,200 below the estimate of $70,400 the department made before the 15-day effort began.
