Two projects to affect Casper area traffic

Two upcoming road projects will affect traffic on Salt Creek Highway and Wyoming Boulevard in Casper. Beartooth Pass (US 212) in northwest Wyoming reopens

Beartooth Pass (US 212) reopened to traffic for the summer on May 26. The pass is north of Cody and east of Yellowstone National Park. Earlier this week, Snowy Range Pass (WYO 130), between Centennial and Saratoga, and US 14A, between Burgess Junction and Lovell, reopened. Crews install new Welcome to Wyoming signs in northwest Wyoming

New Welcome to Wyoming signs were installed near Frannie and Clark Tuesday by Wyoming Department of Transportation's District 5 sign crew in Basin. Larry Stanger, pictured, and Dan Flores installed the new signs near Frannie on US 310/WYO 789 and near Clark on WYO 120 near the Wyoming-Montana border. The signs are changed every eight years when the pattern changes on Wyoming driver license plates.

Spring storm brings out the best in WYDOT maintenance crews

The Wyoming Department of Transportation brought in extra workers and equipment to battle a late May snowstorm that dumped more than 2 feet of snow on some parts of Interstate 80. The record-breaking May 18 and 19 storm caused sections of I-80 to close for up to 36 hours, with crews seeing the worst conditions in the southeast portion of the state. Snowy Range Road open for the season

LARAMIE, Wyo. – Snowy Range Road (WYO 130) over the Snowy Range is open for the season. Crews swung open the gates earlier today. Travelers are advised that current high country conditions can be wet with cold nights.
