The Wyoming Aeronautics Commission will meet for a special business teleconference meeting at 10 a.m., Aug. 22.
At the meeting the commission will vote on Memorandums of Understanding for Gillette, Riverton, Rock Springs and Sheridan for the capacity purchase agreement with SkyWest Airlines as well as Wyoming Aviation Capital Improvement Program (WACIP) budget modifications for fiscal year 2019 and 2020.
SkyWest was selected to provide air service through a long-term contract as part of the Commercial Air Service Improvement Plan, developed by the Commercial Air Service Improvement Council, which was formed by the Wyoming legislature in the 2018 legislative session and included 11 community and legislative stakeholders from around the state.
The contract was sought with the goal of increasing the efficiency of funding spent on air service and creating a structure to successfully retain and grow air service in the future.
The phone number to join the teleconference is (888) 531-9486.
Commission meetings are open to the public. The public may join Wyoming Department of Transportation staff in the WYDOT executive staff conference room at 5300 Bishop Blvd.
The commission’s next meeting will be Sept. 11-13 in Casper.
