The Cheyenne, Laramie and Rawlins offices of the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) are closed today due to the weather.
Gov. Mark Gordon closed state offices in Cheyenne last night due to the weather. WYDOT’s Laramie and Rawlins offices closed during the morning hours on Tuesday.
A winter storm moved through the state Monday, causing slick road conditions, poor visibility and crashes that closed several parts of Interstate 80 and other roads in Wyoming. The storm is continuing to impact travel in several areas of the state on Tuesday.
Rolling closures have also be instituted along several parts of I-80. Rolling closures occur when a town is at capacity, which can happen during a long-duration closure. As a result, the closure is rolled back to the next town to avoid stranding travelers in a location without adequate services.
For a complete list of closures and for the latest on their re-openings, visit WYDOT’s 511 website.
