CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A job to repair concrete slabs on various roads in the Cheyenne area is scheduled to begin today, Wednesday, Aug. 14, weather permitting.
Crews with S&S Builders will be repairing the slabs to provide a better driving surface. The project is broken up into two segments, one to be completed this year and one next year.
This year’s work will focus on I-80 eastbound, including MM 357-362 (Roundtop Road to Central Avenue, including the I-80/I-25 interchange; the I-80 eastbound to I-25 northbound ramp; near MM 372; and MM 377-381.
Construction on the I-80 eastbound to I-25 northbound ramp will result in the closure of that ramp while work takes place – currently scheduled for mid-September, weather permitting. A detour will be in place.
All work on this year’s segment of the project should be complete by October, weather permitting.
Drivers should use caution in the work zones and prepare for lane closures during the project.
Slab repair work will continue next year on I-80 westbound, College Drive, and Central and Warren Avenues at 8th Avenue.
