Crashes cause closure of I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie, local traffic permitted on WYO 210

September 28, 2019

Several crashes and poor visibility caused a closure of Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and Laramie this morning, Sept. 28.

As of 1:30 p.m., I-80 eastbound is expected to reopen in 2-4 hours.

I-80 westbound will remain closed for around 9-11 hours, placing a potential opening time later this evening.

However, WYO 210/Happy Jack Road is open to local traffic between Cheyenne and Laramie. That means drivers whose destination is in Cheyenne or Laramie or in between are permitted on that road, including commuters or traffic to the UW football game this evening. WYO 210 is closed to all other traffic, including commercial vehicles.
