Final I-80 night closure planned for sign installation

July 21, 2015

Westbound Interstate 80 will be closed about 2 miles west of Laramie from 11 p.m. to midnight Tuesday, July 21, and 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday for installation of an overhead electronic message sign.

The closure is the last in a series of eight on I-80 in southeast Wyoming this month for installation of the signs that allow WYDOT to alert drivers to conditions on the road ahead. WYDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this project to improve safety on the highway.

The contractor for the project is Custom Lighting Service of West Jordan, Utah. The cost is $ 2.2 million and it is paid for with federal funds.
