RAWLINS, Wyo. – Paving work on I-80 will temporarily close two ramps of the Exit 219 (Sinclair – West) interchange this week and next week.
This is a continuation of work started earlier this month in the same area and will cause the same effects to traffic.
Weather permitting, WYDOT’s Rawlins Maintenance crew is planning to begin work on Thursday, Sept. 12, and continue on Monday, Sept. 16, during daylight hours.
The Exit 219 eastbound exit ramp will be closed during construction on Sept. 12, and the Exit 219 westbound entrance ramp will be closed during construction on Sept. 16. The ramps will reopen when work is complete.
The other ramps on the interchange will remain open.
More specifically, work on I-80 eastbound is scheduled for Sept. 12. Work will take place in both lanes of I-80 as well as the exit ramp for Exit 219. Once work moves to the driving (right) lane and the ramp, the ramp will close.
The same process will happen on Sept. 16 but in the westbound lanes. However, the Exit 219 entrance ramp will close during work on the driving lane and the ramp itself.
Drivers should plan to use alternate routes if necessary.
