North Sheridan Interchange reconstruction to begin final phases

March 22, 2018

Work will begin on the final phases of the North Sheridan Interchange on Monday, April 2.

This season's project will include the completion of the rehabilitation of the eastbound lane and bridge of Interstate 90. Work will also include the reconstruction of North Main Street from Goose Creek south to Fort Road and East 17th Street. An alignment of these two intersections will be done. Additional work will include underground utility work, reconstruction of the existing roadway, lighting and landscaping enhancements and the addition of 10 foot sidewalks with federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility.

Access to all businesses along North Main Street will be maintained throughout the project. North Main traffic can expect two-way, head-to-head traffic while these improvements are being made.

A public meeting, hosted by the Wyoming Department of Transportation, the city of Sheridan and the contractor, has been scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27 at the Trails End Motel. The public is encouraged to attend.

This $46.4 million project began in July of 2016 with an expected completion date of October 2019. The project is currently ahead of schedule. A new completion date of October 2018 is planned.

For more information about the project, residents can attend the kick off meeting on March 27 and the weekly progress meetings, open to the public, at 10 a.m. every Wednesday at the Country Kitchen or call Laura Dalles, WYDOT senior public relations specialist, at (307) 674-3022.
