Reopening celebration of Main Street/Federal Boulevard intersection set for Wednesday

September 10, 2018

Riverton's busiest intersection is scheduled to reopen this week, and Riverton business owners and citizens are invited to an informal celebration Wednesday evening in Main Street, just west of the intersection.

The 5-7 p.m. event is jointly sponsored by the Riverton Chamber of Commerce, prime contractor S&S Builders, LLC of Gillette, and the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

The event will be held in Main Street in front of El Sol De Mexico, 711 E. Main Street, in Riverton.

"Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the views, some conversation with representatives from prime contractor S&S Builders, LLC, of Gillette and WYDOT, including an overview of the project by WYDOT Resident Engineer Robert Scheidemantel," said Riverton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jim Davis.

Refreshments will include free Mexican appetizers from El Sol De Mexico, and ice cream cones from Daylight Donut.

"Please plan to join us for this important project milestone, and bring a lawn chair," Scheidemantel said.

Citizens and businesses are reminded of the weekly public meeting on the two-year, $13.96 million project at 10 a.m. every Thursday in Riverton City Hall.
