RAWLINS, Wyo. — Motorists traveling along WYO 789 between Creston Junction and Baggs should expect delays as the Wyoming Department of Transportation and McGarvin-Moberly Construction Co. begin road work on Tuesday.
Crews will start milling the road surface this week and will continue for about two weeks. During the milling process, traffic will be reduced to one lane of travel led by a pilot car.
Additionally, speed limits will be reduced through the entire 10-mile project due to the milled surface. Once milling is complete, crews will begin paving. The pilot car will continue directing traffic through the work zone during the paving process, which is expected to take about four weeks.
Motorists should give themselves extra time to reach their destinations as delays are likely through the work zone, which spans mile markers 10-20.6. Travelers should also stay alert, put down distractions and follow all posted signs and traffic control measures, including the pilot car.
The $2.9 million Muddy Creek North project is scheduled to be complete this fall. All construction schedules are subject to change, including due to inclement weather conditions.
