Road work to begin on US 287 north of Rawlins

RAWLINS – Work to resurface a 10-mile section of US 287 north of Rawlins is scheduled to begin Monday, June 18, and drivers should prepare for delays while the project takes place.

The work zone is from milepost 2 to milepost 12 and consists of milling transitions, shouldering, paving operations, a chip seal and reclamation work.

A pilot car will guide traffic through the project area during daytime working hours. Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

Additionally, there will be work on the approach to the Rawlins landfill, though access to the landfill will not be affected.

Work is scheduled to last through September, weather permitting. Drivers should use caution in the work area and be aware of heavy truck traffic.
