Slab repair work to cause downtown detour in Cheyenne

August 4, 2017

LincolnwayDetourSketch.jpgCHEYENNE, Wyo. – Ongoing work to repair concrete slabs in the Cheyenne area will cause a detour in a section of downtown Cheyenne starting next week.

Work will take place on westbound Lincolnway in the area in front of the Jack Spiker Parking Structure and the Dinneen Building.

As a result, westbound traffic will be routed north on Carey Avenue, west on 17th Street and back south on Thomes Avenue.

No right turns will be permitted from Pioneer Avenue to westbound Lincolnway. Traffic on Pioneer Avenue seeking to go straight across Lincolnway or make a left turn to eastbound Lincolnway will be allowed.

The detour will begin Monday, Aug. 7. It will be in effect Mondays through Thursdays for about two weeks.

The work is part of a larger project that has been repairing concrete slabs on roads in Cheyenne, including Interstate 80, Lincolnway, and College Drive.

The entire project began in June and will continue through October.
