US 310 chip sealing scheduled to begin July 1 between Lovell and Cowley

June 28, 2019

A week's worth of US 310 chip sealing is scheduled to begin Monday on the $11.7 million Sage Creek highway and bridge improvement project between Lovell and Cowley.

"Motorists should expect delays and reduced speed limits during chip sealing," according to Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Michael Miller of Basin.

Miller said Shoshone River bridge improvements are continuing, and traffic will soon be moving across the river via the outside of each side of the bridge. "Work will begin soon on the two lanes on the inside of the bridge," he said. "Demolition of the old railroad bridge is ongoing and should be complete in early July."

The $11.7 million Sage Creek highway and bridge improvement project consists of road widening, bridge widening over the Shoshone River, replacement of the Sage Creek and railroad bridges, asphalt paving, and other work.

Prime contractor is S&S Builders LLC, of Gillette. Contract completion date is Oct. 31, 2019.
