Removal and replacement of a safety warning sign on US14A is scheduled to begin Monday, May 1, east of Lovell.
The $128,000 project will replace the existing, non-functional digital sign with a new, modern sign.
"This project will involve replacing the sign, installing a modern breakaway support, and incorporating revised messaging," said Wyoming Department of Transportation project engineer Andy Freeman of Basin.
The electronic sign warns motorists of sharp curves in US14A. "The new sign will incorporate speed sensing and display a 'slow down' message to drivers exceeding the speed limit," Freeman said.
The sign is located at milepost 68.50, about 22 miles east of Lovell on US14A.
Prime contractor on the sign replacement project is Casper Electric of Casper.
Freeman said "anticipated completion" of the sign replacement project is May 31.
