Webbwood Intersection reopens to traffic Thursday morning on the $13.96 million North Federal Boulevard highway improvement project in Riverton.
"Paving is complete east of North Federal Boulevard from Federal to Pure Gas Road," said Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Robert Scheidemantel of Riverton.
Scheidemantel said asphalt paving operations are scheduled to begin Monday morning north of the Webbwood Road intersection. To allow for paving preparation, two of the three accesses to Walmart off North Federal Boulevard will be closed. The north access off Federal will be open this weekend, along with the Webbwood Road access.
This week, nearly 900 cubic yards of concrete was poured south of the Webbwood Road intersection. "We appreciate everyone's patience during this time," Scheidemantel said. "These big concrete pours are helping the contractor to make up for lost time after this wet spring weather."
Another big concrete pour is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, on North Federal Boulevard.
"All businesses are open, and the contractor is maintaining access to all businesses on the east side of Federal Boulevard, via Miniwebb Avenue," Scheidemantel said.
Weekly project progress meetings begin at 10 a.m. every Thursday in Riverton City Hall. Each public meeting includes time for public comments and questions.
