WHP commissions 11 new recruits on Oct. 25

95thCommissionedTroopers-Web.jpgThe Wyoming Highway Patrol commissioned 11 recruits as troopers during a ceremony at the state Supreme Court building in Cheyenne on Oct. 25.

WHP commissioned members of the class 95 following the completion of an intensive training academy. During their training, the troopers underwent physical training and took a variety of classes that dealt with topics such as firearms, commercial carriers, RADAR/LIDAR, emergency vehicle operation, custody and control and crash investigation.

Class 95 participated in more than 1,210 hours of academy training.

Being a trooper can be a challenging yet rewarding career as it takes a special person. All troopers take an oath to protect and serve the citizens of this great state with courtesy, professionalism and integrity as they represent the agency brand of “Guardians of the Cowboy State.”
