CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Wyoming Department of Transportation crews will begin construction of turn lanes on Whitney Road beginning Monday, May 6.
The first offset right turn lane will be constructed from eastbound U.S. 30 to southbound Whitney Road.
During working hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Whitney Road will be closed from U.S. 30 south to Countryside Avenue. Drivers should use alternate routes.
After the first lane is completed, crews will construct an offset right turn lane from westbound U.S. 30 to northbound Whitney Road.
During that construction, Whitney Road will be closed from U.S. 30 north to the service road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The speed limit on U.S. 30 will also be lowered to 45 mph during construction. Fines are higher in work zones.
The turn lanes should be completed within two weeks, weather permitting.
