WYDOT opens new section of WYO 59 near Gillette on Nov. 4

WYO59Map-Web.jpgTraffic is now open on a newly relocated 4-mile section of WYO 59 north of Gillette, near Eagle Butte Coal Mine.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation opened the road to traffic at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4. WYDOT closed the old section from the Dry Fork Station to Little River Road also on Nov. 4.

Motorists traveling south on WYO 59 will be rerouted onto the new section near the Dry Fork Station. The new section of WYO 59 meets US 14-16 at a T-intersection near Rawhide School.

Motorists traveling north on WYO 59 will not take the route by the Gillette-Campbell County Airport but will instead travel north on US 14-16 toward Rawhide School where they will get on the new WYO 59 road.

Motorists are reminded to use caution as traffic gets accustomed to the new alignment.
