WYDOT to close I-25 at Midwest exit for a few hours on Aug. 1 and 2

July 31, 2019

WYDOT will close Interstate 25 at the Midwest exit (exit 227) for a couple hours on both Thursday and Friday nights (Aug. 1 and 2) to install overhead dynamic message signs.

On Thursday, Aug. 1 crews will close the northbound lanes at 9 p.m., diverting traffic off at exit 210, then via WYO 259 and WYO 387 through Midwest back onto the interstate at exit 227.

On Friday, Aug. 2, crews will close the southbound lanes at 9 p.m. at exit 227. This time there will be no detour due to the location of the overhead signs and the lack of any highway to divert traffic to. (Signs are installed prior to the exit off ramp).

Both closures are expected to take about 2 hours each. We will have notice of the closure for the southbound side posted prior to the Kaycee exit to give travelers a chance to wait at Kaycee.
