WYDOT will be out patching roadways

May 3, 2018

The Wyoming Department of Transportation with contract crews from Lewis & Lewis Inc. along with HK Contractors will be milling and paving sections of roadway all over southwest Wyoming.

Crews will be working on US 89 in the Star Valley area starting on May 10, from mile marker 100 to 105, on the North end of Thayne to the Freedom Junction.  Crews will then move operations to mile marker 69 to 73, South Pass to Smoot.  There could be a week delay between the two operations.

Working hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Commuters can expect up to 15 minutes delays, so WYDOT is advising drivers plan accordingly while traveling.

This is a district-wide contract patch project which repairs short sections of road in rough condition with a lift of asphalt.  This type of work is longer lasting than patching potholes but not as comprehensive as a full overlay.

The schedule is always dependent on weather and progress on each area. WYDOT paint crews will follow up on the new paving with stripes within approximately 10 days, depending on weather conditions.

WYDOT would like to remind drivers to slow down in work zones, be alert and cautious of roadside workers. For more information on road construction, closures and weather conditions, please visit WYDOT's 511 website
