WYDOT will close the Belt Loop, from Dewar to Blair, for grinding work

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), in coordination with contract crews from Kilgore Companies (doing business as Lewis & Lewis), will begin roadway grinding operations tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 23. The work is part of an ongoing concrete slab repair project on Wyoming State Highway 376 (the South Belt Loop).

As part of the traffic control plan, crews will place the traffic signals at the Blair Avenue intersection into "flashing red" mode. Crews will also close the Belt Loop to traffic from Dewar Drive to Blair Avenue through Thursday, Sept. 24.

The closure will last for two days, but local access to the West Center Street will remain open throughout the duration of the work. Drivers are reminded to obey all traffic control devices, heed closure signs, reduce speeds, and remain alert for roadside personnel.

The work is part of a pavement rehabilitation job involving concrete paving, asphalt paving, milling, grinding, crack sealing and traffic control work on approximately 4.50 miles of the South Belt Loop (WYO 376). The completion date for the overall work is set for October 31, 2026.
