GILLETTE – WYDOT and its contractors have begun work on widening WYO 50 from W. Lakeway Road south to Southern Drive.
In order to complete the project on time, and decrease the impact to the traveling public, WYDOT will be closing a portion of WYO 50 from W. Lakeway Road to Force/West 4-J Road on Tuesday, May 28.
The intersections of WYO 50 and Ledoux Avenue and Hamilton Street will be closed also.
This project is located along Wyoming State Highway 50 beginning at the intersection with W. Lakeway Road, and extending south for approximately 2.06 miles through the intersection with Southern Drive ending at RM 5.08.
The detour route will take traffic onto Lakeway Road, Oakcrest Drive, and West 4-J Road and then back onto WYO 50.
Local traffic access to Spring Hill Road and Washington Street can be accessed via the intersection of Force Road/West 4-J Road.
The detour is not on an established truck route and truck traffic will need to utilize Interstate 90, WYO 59 and Southern Drive to access south WYO 50.
It is WYDOT’s goal to provide safe and efficient routes during the construction season and ask for your patience and cooperation.
