Currently, there are no dedicated federal funds for alternative fuel programs other than electric vehicle infrastructure.

In August, the US Department of Transportation issued new National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program guidance and asked states to submit new NEVI plans for approval.
WYDOT submitted a plan, which was approved in October 2025.
