Byron Days Celebration
Accompanied by a parade, local vendors, a volleyball tournament, a water slide, and more than a dozen food trucks, the WYDOT Local Government Coordination Office was invited to hand out free bike helmets to the youth of the Byron/Lovell/Powell communities who all came to the annual Byron Days Celebration. These helmets were puchased through the WYDOT Transportation Alternatives Incentive Program (TAIP), which aims to promote bicycle safety to school-age children in the State of Wyoming.
TAIP aims to implement a comprehensive statewide initiative that enhances bicycle safety, traffic education, and school safety. This program aligns with federal and state transportation goals by promoting sustainable and safer transportation alternatives. This office participates in this initiative by attending school-sponsored or town/city-sponsored events where we have the pleasure to hand out helmets, refelctors, and other safety-incentive items to the students and youth of our Wyoming communities.
